Waterproofing basement walls from inside is the best waterproofing solution when: there is excessive moisture in the soil especially under basement concrete slab, or when the basement is very deep, or when neighbours property is located very nearby. To perform foundation waterproofing from the inside, the basement wall has to be exposed, and the floor excavated along the foundation walls for new weeping tile pipe to be installed. We are using Delta MS drainage membrane to direct water to new filtered plastic weeping tile pipe. The advantage of internal waterproofing is that it is not only protecting the basement from water coming through the foundation wall, but also from collecting the ground water from under the concrete slab. http://draincom.com/Wet-Basement-Waterproofing-Foundation-Repair.php
SANI-TRED is the only product on the market that permanently waterproofs basements, and more. Sani-Tred Permaflex®, (liquid rubber primer and top coating), penetrates deeply into the pores of the substrate, (foundation building material), and produces tiny solid rubber sealing plugs due to Flexible Penetration Technology® . These tiny plugs or sealing tentacles penetrate deeply into each and every pore or small crack in the substrate and holds back and retains ground water pressure before it has a chance to reach the SANI-TRED coating surface to push it off, en masse, as with other types of coatings. These sealing tentacles work like tiny, high pressure, hydraulic o-rings and one of the main qualities that allows SANI-TRED to hold back great pressure without failure!
Elongation Memory Technology® ensures that when SANI-TRED products are compressed and relaxed, they maintain their original shape and size preventing distortion of their original shape and size which is a major cause of release of coatings from powerful forces such as freeze/thaw cycles, water or gas pressure, vibration and sudden shock.
Permanent Flexibility® provides that SANI-TRED products never harden or become brittle; they maintain flexibility and only become stronger with age without breaking down as other coatings do. SANI-TRED Permaflex deep penetrates and strengthens weak concrete or mortar joints which prevent detachment from these types of weak substrates as other coatings are known to do.

"Hi, I’m Joel with Waterproof.com and today I’m going to show you how to install the SquidGee Dry System. The SquidGee Dry System is an ideal remedy for a basement leaking water through the joint where the floor and walls meet. The do-it-yourself system collects the water and quietly drains it to the sump pump or floor drain. Never worry about a wet leaky basement again! The SquidGee Dry System will last for decades. The only skill needed is the ability to follow directions. Begin by cleaning the floor to remove all dirt and dust. Using the SealOnce Adhesive apply a tall, thick bead of adhesive to the bottom of the main section. Turn the main section back over and set it in place. Press gently in place for 30 seconds. Next, apply the finishing seal followed by slicking down the bead of adhesive to create a watertight seal. Seal the butt-joint connectors to create a continuous channel. Install and bond in place the pre-molded inside and outside corners. Finish by draining the SquidGee Dry System to your sump pump or floor drain. Enjoy your dry basement for years to come. If you have any questions please visit our website Waterproof.com or call 1-800-828-2947."

Homes built pre 1970 used Field Tile for Foundation Drainage. This pipe is usually cemnet or ceramic and came in 1 foot sections that was butted together and laid along the footer.
Take a look at what it looks like after 30 or 40 years. It is totally full of dirt and needs to be replace.
This is not an easy Do it Yourself project but it can be done if you have a few friends willing to work for a back yard cook out!

The reason why Grate Drain basement waterproofing pipes are so much better than other basement systems for waterproofing than other foundation systems of Michigan. The best Interior waterproofing systems require the basement floor to be somewhat removed around the interior perimeter walls thus making a trench for the basement waterproofing pipeline to be set into place. Ken from Basement Waterproofing and Foundation Repair of Michigan explains why Grate Drain Systems perform so much better than what all the other big name waterproofing companies use. Most basement systems or other types of foundation systems used in Michigan use a drainage system that sits on TOP of the home's footing which often requires the footing of the home to be somewhat cut away or chipped in order to create a enough room for the pipe to have enough pitch for the water to be taken away to a sump pump or drain. This can alter the structural integrity of the home. Grate Drain requires much more work to install but is by far the best way to waterproof a basement without altering the footing and main support of the home because it sits NEXT TO the footing rather than on top of the footer. This requires more concrete to be removed as well as replaced, more man hours of labor, This allows a greater pitch to help the water drain faster and more efficiently as well as keeping the water table further from the basement floor. Grate Drain really is a great drain indeed. It is also the only sealed basement system on the market that helps eliminate the wet or damp musty smell found in basements after waterproofing systems have been installed. There are so many "carpet baggers" in the Basement Waterproofing Industry but worse, so many customers who want to believe in what they're selling. That bargain price of Basement Waterproofing, at times, can cost you more than you can imagine., My parents always told me that it didn't matter what I did for a living, and that I didn't have to be the best, AS LONG AS I ALWAYS DID MY BEST! A trench is a "ditch." I dig ditches. I'm a "ditch digger." For over 35 Years I've done the hands on work and I do ONLY what works. What I do is not a glamorous Occupation yet for me it is extremely rewarding. In this Basement Waterproofing Industry of lies, people need me. And each and every day I make a difference in my customers lives. - Daniel J. OConnor
